Workshops: Would you like to create a book for children? Possibly a picture book? Or perhaps a novel for older children or adolescents?

CReATe a kids’ book offers one-day workshops, under the guidance of two experienced and enthusiastic children's book people, Dr. Virginia Lowe (words) and Jo Thompson (illustrations). They will work with you on the creation of your story and advise on presentation for submission to a publisher.

Workshops on novel writing ( YA and short “chapter books”) with Virginia and novelist Jennifer Dabbs are also available.

Between them, our tutors have a wealth of knowledge about the history of children's literature and contemporary literary theory, as well as a solid understanding of the Australian publishing scene.

Previous participants have found the workshop is conducive to creativity and have acknowledged the value of sharing stories and techniques with others, as well as benefiting from the individual attention of the tutors. Many of them return time and time again some have been published (see the successess).

Book your place in a workshop today.
